Part 2
So when someone says “God is love or God is not love or God is something else,” the very word “God” or “Goddess” or “Spirit” is encumbered by not knowing — and by the profound need for connection — that there is a great deal of projection, like the child who has never been loved or nurtured grasps for that needed unknown and imagined parent.
What you call God, we prefer to call Creation (we include in this all that is beyond physical form, beyond time and space.) We use this word because it differentiates from personality, from the idea that there is a human face of God; the human face of God is in the face of every single human being who has ever been born. Where you find the worm face of God is in every worm that ever lived. And where you find the star-light face of God is in every star that has ever been born or burned out. Everything is the face of God. And every non-thing is the face of God.
And so, we use “Creation,” because as we have said, in using words (which are so unclear) the ultimate quality of what you think of as God is that of being creative. In order to be creative you have to love, because there is nothing, there is no creative impulse, without a much deeper impulse that you would call love.
We don’t use the word God, because it is such a projection-filled word for human beings. It carries so much pain, disappointment, so much illusion, so much imagining, so much need. Instead we say that what you call God is the infinitely, ultimately creative, because this is true of God in action. Creativity is love in action, and love is an action; it is not a feeling; it is a movement; it is a life-force; it is an expression.
Love is a living, moving Truth beyond any human ability to fully explain, understand or grasp in words. And so we use “creativity” and “Creation” to speak of God, because we feel it more accurately reflects, with language, a truer understanding, a truer connection; it allows you a more open conduit to experience what is true.
